L Contemporary is launching the first edition of the Young Curators open call

L Contemporary is pleased to announce the open call for the first edition of Young Curators, a program designed for students and recent graduates in Fine Arts, Art History, Cultural Management, and related disciplines who wish to develop their own exhibition project within a professional environment.

This initiative is part of the gallery's inaugural season under the thematic framework "Basic Research", a conceptual axis that promotes projects rooted in curiosity, rigorous investigation, and engagement with contemporary issues. In this spirit, Young Curators seeks proposals that transcend traditional exhibition models and explore the intersections between art, science, humanities, and current global challenges.

Selected curators will develop and install their exhibitions at L Contemporary’s hybrid studio-gallery space, receiving personalized mentorship, production support, and access to an interdisciplinary network of artists, academics, and cultural professionals.

Young Curators features a unique educational dimension: direct immersion into the commercial aspects of contemporary gallery management. Participants will gain insights into promotional strategies, collector relations, pricing, artwork sales, and the economic sustainability of exhibition projects. The goal is to provide practical tools to balance curatorial vision and intellectual integrity with commercial viability—essential skills for building lasting careers in the independent art ecosystem.

Full details regarding the open call can be found on our website at https://l-contemporary.com/young-curators/ in the dedicated section. For any inquiries, please contact us at assistant@l-contemporary.com
