For this edition of the art fair, we present a project that brings together four contemporary creators deeply connected to the insular and Atlantic context, whose works offer a profound reflection on matter, territory, and memory, whether through experimentation or intention. On one hand, Juan Matos (Capote) subverts traditional visual perception through a radical abstraction that shifts between oil sediments and sound art, challenging ocularcentrism by transforming the canvas into a field of physical vibrations. In parallel, César Schofield Cardoso uses photography, cinema, and digital arts to explore the political layers of the environment, turning liquid Atlantic landscapes into critical metaphors for climate change and collective memory. Meanwhile, Alba Dorta (Vega) immerses the viewer in a universe of intimate warmth through her experimentation with Canarian cochineal as a raw material, exploring resilience in compositions where bodies and botanical forms flourish, dyed by the visceral nuances of this historic colorant. Finally, Cristina Regalado Ramos acts as a "human magpie" who gathers and recontextualizes the environment through textile art, digital drawing, and independent publications, mapping the territory and Canarian magical-religious traditions. Thus, whether by chance or through a thoughtful conceptual design, the works of these four artists reflect how our gaze is constantly mediated by geography, the trace of memory, and the friction of materials.
